About the Eparchial Safeguarding Committee
The Eparch of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania has responsibility for the oversight of the operation of the Eparchial Safeguarding Committee (ESC).
The ESC is not a governing body, but its role is to support the overall governance of the Eparchial system in relation to Safeguarding of its parishioners, in particular, children and adults at risk.
Australian Catholic Safeguarding Limited (ACSL) plays a vital role in supporting the Eparchial Safeguarding Committee. ACSL assists the Committee by providing policy guidance, as well as supplying templates and practical examples to facilitate the Committee’s safeguarding work.
In addition, ACSL delivers integrated safeguarding services that are grounded in Catholic social teaching. These services help Church entities, including the Eparchial Safeguarding Committee, to meet their obligations in creating and maintaining safe environments for children and adults at risk.
