Greetings to Vladyka Peter on the occasion of his birthday

July 16, 2023

Today we celebrate the 80th birthday of Bishop Peter Stasiuk, Bishop Emeritus of the Eparchy of Melbourne!

Greetings to Vladyka Peter on the occasion of his birthday

Your Grace! On this joyous occasion, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude for your tremendous work and service to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. You have become an example of faithfulness and have dedicated many years of your life to serving in the vineyard of Christ in the lands of Australia.

During your 27 years of devoted service in the Eparchy of Melbourne, you have exerted great efforts to bring joy, light, and spiritual enrichment to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Your selflessness and deep faith have made you a worthy example of vocation and dedication.

You played a significant role in founding the “Ukrainian Youth for Christ” movement in Australia. This movement has become a gathering place for the youth, where they can experience the power of Christ’s calling and develop their faith.

We are also grateful to you for your work as the head of the Patriarchal Catechetical Commission of the UGCC, where you collaborated with other distinguished spiritual leaders in the creation of the Catechism “Christ Our Pascha.” This official text of catechesis has become a valuable source of spiritual knowledge and growth for the faithful of the UGCC.

Equally important was your service as the chief chaplain of the Ukrainian Youth Association (CYM). You became their spiritual guide and a great source of support, helping the youth understand the importance of faith, culture, and community service.

Your Grace! From the bottom of our hearts, we congratulate you on this significant milestone. May God continue to be with you, filling your life with peace, joy, and blessings. May your soul always be ready to receive the power of Christ, and may your work continue to bear fruits for the benefit of the Church and the Ukrainian people.

With prayers for you,

Bishop Mykola Bychok, clergy, monasticism, and faithful of the Eparchy of Melbourne
