Bishop Mykola met with Ukrainian soldiers and their families

During his visit to Rome, Bishop Mykola Bychok, Eparch of Melbourne, held a number of important meetings. One of them was held on December 9 at the monastery of St. Theodore the Studite “Studion”, where he met with Ukrainian soldiers undergoing rehabilitation and their families. This warm meeting was an opportunity for joint prayer, friendly conversation, and mutual support
The meeting began with a joint prayer for a just peace, for prisoners of war and missing persons. Participants also had the opportunity to share their experiences. “The wounds on the body cannot be compared to the spiritual wounds that each of us carries in our hearts,” the military shared during the meeting. Among the participants of the event were also Fr. Orest Kozak, Studite, and Fr. Ihor Holovko, Synkellos for clergy of the Melbourne Eparchy.
Bishop Mykola expressed his sincere gratitude to the military for their courage and sacrifice in the fight for Ukraine. He assured the audience of his constant prayers for them and spoke about the initiatives of the Melbourne Eparchy aimed at supporting the victims of the war. He paid special attention to the important assistance provided by the Catholic Church to Ukrainians both in Australia and around the world.
